FIGHTING LYME'S DISEASE
CREATING A HEALTHIER HOME ENVIRONMENT
A single mother in Cary and her daughter had debilitating and progressive Lyme Disease. The symptoms of fatigue and muscle pain compromised the mother's ability to financially sustain her family. She could be perfectly fine one day and then not be able to get out of bed for three days. She needed a home office area to accommodate her erratic work schedule and carpeting fibers and dust that exacerbated her symptoms had to be replaced with wood flooring.
WHAT OUR VOLUNTEERS ACCOMPLISHED
Inside: The Build Team created an office area which included drywall, painting, and heating; Added flooring to the Dining Room and Living Room; Removed the upstairs carpeting and installed hardwood floors throughout the entire second floor; Replaced the hot water heater.
Outside: Repaired and stained the deck and stairs; Power washed, and stained the backyard fence.
Right side: The Mother and daughter were truly appreciative of the Build Team's response to their situation. The homeowner stated, “What a tremendous outpouring of time, hard work, and dedication by so many—such a gift to my daughter and me that will make such a difference in our journey back to health and wellness.
